LANDSCAPE DESIGN |
The general goal of landscape design at Fort Carson is to improve the quality of life for the people living and working on the installation, as well as enhancing the mission capability. More specifically, landscaping should strengthen and unify the character of the post by providing overall continuity, focal points and accents. These goals will be achieved as follows:
- Landscape design must be used to provide a more pleasant and unified visual environment along the post's main roadways.
- Plant materials and landform elements must be used to minimize the visual impact of automobiles and parking areas.
- Landscaping shall be used to create accents and focal points, enhance views, and visually screen objectionable areas.
- Landscaping at Fort Carson shall enhance water conservation and minimize maintenance.
