4.2.14 Air Quality

The air quality at Fort Carson is affected by demolition projects, dismantling of facilities, renovation projects, construction activities, including land development and sandblasting, facility upgrades, open burn activities, and ozone depleting substances.

Also access the Industrial Hygiene portion of Air Quality by clicking on the link. Industrial hygiene evaluates each proposed design project using current guidelines from OSHA, ACGIH, Army regulations and technical manuals, and the ASHRAE standard (Ventilation for Acceptable Indoor Air Quality).

Zero Hazardous Air Pollutant Emissions Goal:
The long-term goal is to ensure that Hazardous Air Pollutant (HAP) emissions are reduced to zero by 2027.  Desired end states include cleaner air for everyone in the community, better working conditions for those at Fort Carson, and healthier regional environment.
