4.3 Existing Land Use

Open space, primarily used for military training, dominates the overall land use at Fort Carson.  The Cantonment Area is characterized by the following land use categories:  Logistics & Industrial, Unit Operations & Maintenance, Family Housing, Installation Administration and Support, Recreation, Airfield, and Training & Open Space.

The visual zones directly relate to the existing land use map categories.  The visual themes further dictate the visual image of each of the facilities as they relate to the visual zones.
