5.2 Visual Theme Categories

Visual themes are generalized groupings of similar types of facilities, which will have similar treatment and level of exterior finish across the installation.  The colors and configuration of materials may vary depending on which visual zone the facility is located in.

The Visual Themes established at Fort Carson are as follows:

Administration Facilities Visual Theme.  This visual theme includes facilities that are strictly used for administration purposes, such as the Post Headquarters,  

Community/Community Support Visual Theme.  This visual theme includes facilities such as the Chapel, Post Exchange, Hospital, Theater, and the Bowling Alley.

Industrial Facilities Visual Theme.  This visual theme encompasses buildings used for  storage, maintenance, motor pools, and other such related activities.

Troop Housing Visual Theme.  The troop housing visual theme includes all troop housing situations that are not single family homes. 

Recreational Facilities Visual Theme.  This visual theme includes recreations facilities such as picnic pavilions, ball field structures, and Gymnasium buildings.

Gates Visual Theme.  The gates visual theme encompasses the facilities located at each installation entry point.
