5.3.6.4 Liabilities
5.3.6.4.1 Site Planning
- Parking lots are inadequate. Many cars park in unidentified areas along roadways.
- The gravel lots create dust problems.
5.3.6.4.2 Buildings
- Associated trailers and “out” buildings do not relate in material, color, style, or design to the hangars or other surrounds and are unattractive.
- Associated storage areas immediately adjacent to the hangars are not screened.
5.3.6.4.3 Circulation
- Pedestrian circulation lacks definition and separation from the vehicular network.
5.3.6.4.4 Plant Materials
- Landscaped areas are minimal and are poorly kept in the vicinity of the hangars, parking lots, administration building, and the control tower.
5.3.6.4.5 Site Elements
- There are no site furnishings, plazas, or courtyards for pedestrians.
- The exposed chain link fence at the main entry road is a visual liability.
- Trash dumpsters are not in enclosures and are not screened.
- Signage is poorly placed at the rear of the hangars (street side) and has been over used.
- Signage that does not comply with the IDG is located at the Route 5 turn-off to the airfield.
- Transformers and other utility items are unscreened.
- Wooden bollards with ropes do not meet the IDG standards.
