9.4 Roadway Setbacks

Department of Defense antiterrorism standards state that all inhabited buildings within a controlled perimeter will be setback a minimum of 10 meters (33 feet) from roadways, and that troop billeting and primary gathering spaces shall be setback a minimum of 25 meters (82 feet) from roadways.  For inhabited buildings not within a controlled perimeter, the minimum setback distance is 25 meters (82 feet), and for primary gathering places and troop facilities, the minimum distance is 45 meters (148 feet).  (See Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) 4-010-01, DoD Minimum Antiterrorism Standards for Buildings, Table B-1.)
