Parking |
Automobile parking is a very dominant visual element at Fort Carson. Parking areas have often been handled in an incomplete and insensitive manner, with poor relationships to streets or building entries, including the lack of landscaping. In some instances parking areas are unimproved and undefined. Having an adequate number of parking spaces in a convenient location is a functional necessity for facilities on post. A quantitative reaction to this need, however, is not enough. Every effort must be made to provide adequate parking in a manner that improves, rather than detracts from, the visual environment.
