buffer planting

A mixture of evergreen and deciduous trees and shrubs shall be used to visually separate land uses and to help separate visual zones.  Buffer plantings shall not be installed in rigid formal lines but shall be installed in strategic clumps to properly screen unsightly areas all times of the year.  Plants of different types of density, color, height, and texture when clumped together provide attractive buffers.  Buffer planting should also be used at all Installation entrance gates to screen unattractive areas of the installation from view upon entry to the installation.  Landscape buffers shall also be used to screen loading docks, ground mounted mechanical equipment, and other such areas from view.
