11.5.3 Parking Lot Lighting
Lighting for parking lots shall be provided on three basic design levels. The first shall be a more formal, upscale approach for use in high visibility areas. The second shall be a rather standard approach to parking lot lighting in POV (privately owned vehicles) lots. The third shall be a more utilitarian approach used for large parking lots in motor pools, maintenance, and similar non-POV areas. These three design levels shall be referred to as PL-1, PL-2, and PL-3. 11.5.3.1 Level Pl-1 LightingThis level shall be the more formal type and shall be applicable to all parking lots in Administration & Support Visual Zone D. Lighting for this level shall have the following characteristics:
For this level of parking lot lighting, a notable exception exists in the immediate vicinity of the Evans Army Community Hospital (Zone D-4). For this area, painted galvanized steel poles and fixtures have been used. When replacing poles in this specific existing area, new poles shall be of materials and finish to match. However, as new areas develop within Hospital Zone, lighting shall follow the guidelines described above for Level PL-1 lighting. The excepted lighting characteristics, which specifically differ from the standard Level PL-1 Lighting, are as follows:
