B.5.6 Asbestos/Lead Base Paint Management Program

General Information.  When buildings and facilities are renovated and upgraded, Fort Carson has an Asbestos/ Lead Based Paint (ACM/ LBP) Management Program which shall be followed. 

• Overall objectives are to survey, identify and maintain ACM/ LBP in good condition.  Surveys of existing facilities shall be accomplished by a DECAM contractor prior to any renovation projects.  Abatement activities/plans shall be reviewed and approved by DECAM.  Waste generated shall be disposed of in a manner which complies with CFR 61 Sub M, and waste manifest shall be submitted to DECAM for incorporation with project data. 

• After project completion, a copy of all documents regarding ACM abatement shall be furnished to DECAM records.  POC is Fort Carson Asbestos/Lead Program manager 526-1687.
