D.6.7  Incentives for Renewable Technologies and Sustainable Design

            Many incentives are offered by federal and state governments, local utilities, and private organizations which can have a large effect on the economics of renewable technologies. Applicable incentives can be located in the Database for State Incentives for Renewable Energy, or DSIRE (www.dsireusa.org).  These incentives include: tax and production incentives, rebates, grants, and low or no interest loans are available to help reduce the cost of installing a renewable technology and generating green power on-site.
