In-processing

All inbound Soldiers below the rank of Colonel must in-process through the In/Out Processing Section in Bldg 1218 rm 136 , regardless of direct assignment.

To ensure in-processing is quick, simple and convenient, all in-processing requirements are completed while the Soldier is at the Replacement Detachment.

Arrival

Transportation

Transportation from the Colorado Springs airport may be available. Call the Replacement Detachment CQ for pick-up arrangements, (719) 526-6961 or (719) 526-0349.

Reporting

During normal duty hours: sign in at Building 1218 Room 136 with In/Out Processing. After hours & weekends: report to Building 1013 (Carson Inn) and sign in with the CQ desk.

Soldiers are authorized to report in civilian clothes; however, you must be clean shaven, and in accordance with AR 670-1 (i.e., no piercing, etc.) And be prepared to change into uniform.

Requirements

Unaccompanied (SSG & below)

Lodging at Billeted Building 1013: while assigned to the Detachment Will participate in a 5 day in-processing program Be prepared to change into your duty uniform

Accompanied (SSG & below)

Make your own lodging arrangements. Colorado Inn Will participate in a 5 day in-processing program Advance pay requests may take 3-5 days to process

Accompanied/unaccompanied SSG(P) & above including Officers & Warrant Officers

Make your own lodging arrangements. Colorado Inn Will participate in a 3 day in-processing program

In-processing-What to bring

All Soldiers on assignment to Fort Carson should bring with them all initial issue. When you report in you MUST have the following documentation:

  • All assignment orders & amendments
  • DA Form 31 (leave form)
  • Copies of profiles (P3 & above only)
  • Medical Record (If given to you by your losing Command)
  • Dental Record(If given to you by your losing Command)

If you are attempting to get a compassionate re-assignment. You MUST report to the MPD Reassignments, Building 1218 Room 138

If you are taking Permissive TDY in conjunction with your leave and it is annotated on your Leave Form (Block 17), you must go to the Housing Office in Building 7301 (Colorado Inn) and get your leave form stamped. If you do not have this stamp you will be charged the 10 days of leave instead of PTDY. Upon completion of Leave/PTDY, sign-in for inprocessing.

Out-processing

OCONUS

You are required to pick up your clearing papers in person at building 1218, room 136, 10 working days prior to your anticipated day of departure. You must furnish 9 copies of these orders, and 5 copies of your DA FORM 31, DA Form 4036-R, AT Level 1 Certificate, HIV printout and permissive TDY (if applicable). You must be in Military Uniform (DCU’s, Class A’s or Class B’s).

CONUS

You are required to pick up your clearing papers in person at building 1218, room 136, 10 working days prior to your anticipated day of departure. You must furnish 9 copies of these orders, and 5 copies of your approved DA Form 31, and permissive TDY (if applicable). You must be in Military Uniform (DCU’s, Class A’s or Class B’s).

Pick-up Clearing Papers

According to FC Regulation 210-8, ALL out-processing Soldiers MUST be in duty uniform (ACU's, Class A, or Class B) at all times.

Out-processing-What to bring

PCS (Permanent Change of Station)

  • Copy of Orders
  • Copy of Leave Form DA 31 (Approved).

MEB (Medical Evaluation Board)

Soldiers can clear with a transition appointment slip and working copy of leave form.

Soldiers can also pick up clearing papers with orders and approved DA31.

Once Soldier has received orders a copy of the orders must be turned into the Out-processing section to finalize out-processing

Retirements

  • Copy of Orders
  • Copy of Leave Form (DA 31)
  • A memorandum requesting 30 day out-processing from leave start date from the Commander

Chapters

Certain chapters require escort of E-5 and up for E-4’s and below and if soldier is E-5 and up, the escort must be of equal grade or higher grade (These Chapters that require an escort are as follows: Chapter 5-13, 5-17, 9, 10, 13, 14, and 18)

All other Chapters do not require an escort (These Chapters are 5-16, 5-8, 4, 6, 7, 8, 11, 12, 16-2, 17 and 19)

Soldiers can clear with a memorandum from Commander requesting to clear installation without orders (CHAPTERS ONLY), if chapter packet has been recieved by transitions section in room 221 bldg 1218.
