Basic Life Support(BLS)

  • The Basic Life Support course is in accordance with the curriculum of the American Heart Association (AHA) for the BLS for Healthcare Providers as well as the Military Training Network (MTN).  The MTN is an authorized provider of American Heart Association Emergency Cardiovascular Care Courses.  The course will consist of about 4 hours of both didactic training as well as hands on training.  The student will take a written exam following the didactic portion of the course as well as a hands-on exam.  Following the successful completion of this course, the soldier will receive a signed BLS card from the MTN, which is good for two (2) years.  Priority for this course is the following:  Priority 1 - Current 68W, Priority 2 - GS EMS Employees, and Priority 3 is all other MOS interested Soldiers, as well as other service branches. The total class size for this course is 15 students.  The seating for this course will be on a first come first served basis, following the above priorities.

  • Prerequisites:
    - Registration forms should be submitted no later than 30 days prior to class start date.
  • Class Times and Uniforms:
    - The classes will start at 0900hrs and be completed by 1200hrs.
    - The uniform will be the duty uniform for military members, and GS EMS personnel.
