We can help you with:
Survivor/Victim Advocate:
A victim or survivor advocate is a person who is there to help support a victim by providing information and support. An advocate will walk with the victim through all stages of their case. The goal of the advocate is to support and empower victims to make their own decisions and assist in their recovery.
Legal Services:
The Victim Witness Liaison is the primary point of contact for victims and witnesses involved in the military judicial process. The VWL provides, facilitates, and coordinates services to the victim. We collaborate with the VWL to ensure that the victim is informed of financial, legal, and other social service support that is available through public and private programs, including available compensation through federal, state and local programs.
Medical Care:
Sexual assault victims are strongly encouraged to receive a medical examination at the earliest opportunity following their assault. The medical examination enables the diagnosis and treatment of physical injuries, assessment of the emotional impact of the assault, assessment and management of any sexually transmitted diseases, and the collection of physical evidence relevant to the assault. In theater, sexual assault care is provided at the division level combat support hospital. The comprehensive care the patient requires is available at the CSH.
Safety:
Safety planning ensures the physical and emotional safety of the victim throughout the initial crisis period and throughout the recovery process. We help him/her to develop a safety plan.
Sexual Harassment Prevention:
Every Soldier, civilian and Family member is entitled to be protected from sexual harassment. Upon notification, we intervene in accordance with Army guidance in order to create a climate of dignity and respect.
Awarness:
The Army's intent is the total elimination of sexual harassment and sexual assault from our ranks by creating cultural change. We will achieve our goal by emphasizing living the Army values and ensuring that our community understands what sexual harassment and sexual assault are, and that those behaviors are incompatible with our goals.
We provide our Soldiers and civilians with the information needed to identify these behaviors and to intervene in order to create a climate where we all are treated with dignity and respect.
