Commander's Bio

LTC Jeremy Lewis is a native of Jeromesville, Ohio. He graduated from the Illinois Institute of Technology in 1996 with a Bachelor of Science in Metallurgical Engineering. Upon graduation, he was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in the Quartermaster Corps. His first assignment was to the 1st Infantry Division in Germany where he deployed to Bosnia as the Supply Platoon Leader in Alpha Company, 201st Forward Support Battalion (FSB) and then served as the Supply Platoon Leader and Company Executive Officer for Alpha Company, 701st Main Support Battalion (MSB).

In 2000, LTC Lewis attended the Combined Logistics Career Captain’s Course and then was assigned to the 87th Corps Support Battalion (CSB), 1st Corp Support Command (COSCOM), Fort Stewart, GA where he served as Support Operations Supply and Services Officer. From 2001 to 2003, LTC Lewis commanded the Headquarters and Supply Company (HSC), 603rd Aviation Support Battalion (ASB), 3rd Infantry Division, Hunter Army Airfield, GA.; where he deployed his company in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF). Following command, LTC Lewis served as the 603rd ASB Battalion S2/3.

In 2004, LTC Lewis departed 603rd and was stationed at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, OH where he attended the Air Force Institute of Technology and received his Masters in Logistics Management.

In 2005, LTC Lewis was assigned to the Unit of Action Experimental Element, Fort Knox, KY. Shortly after arriving, he deployed to Samara, Iraq where he served as the 1st Battalion, 1st Brigade Iraq Special Police Transition Team Executive Officer. Upon his redeployment, LTC Lewis served as Battalion Executive Officer for the Brigade Support Battalion (BSB), Future Brigade Combat Team Experimental Element.

From 2007 to 2008, LTC Lewis attended the Command and General Staff College, Fort Leavenworth, KS where he received his Intermediate Level Education (ILE) and a Masters in Military Arts and Sciences (MMAS) as part of the School for Advanced Military Studies (SAMS) Advanced Military Studies Program (AMSP).

In 2009, LTC Lewis deployed to Kabul, Afghanistan where he served as the United States Forces – Afghanistan (USFOR-A), J4, Chief of Plans. Upon his redeployment, LTC Lewis was assigned to the 87th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion (CSSB) where he deployed in 2010 to Mazar-I-Sharif, Afghanistan and served as the Battalion Support Operations and later Executive Officer.

In 2011, LTC Lewis was assigned to the Office of the Secretary of Defense, with duty at the Defense Institute of Security Assistance Management (DISAM), Wright Patterson Air Force Base, OH where he served as the Deputy Director of Management Studies.

LTC Lewis’s awards and decorations include the Bronze Star with Oak Leaf Cluster (OLC), Defense Meritorious Service Medal with OLC, Meritorious Service Medal with OLC, Joint Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal with 2 OLC, Joint Service Achievement Medal, and the Army Achievement Medal with 2 OLC. LTC Lewis has been awarded the Parachutists Badge.
