Command Sergeant Majors Bio

Command Sergeant Major (CSM) Jacinto Garza is a native of Jasper, Texas. He entered the U.S. Army on 19 September 1996 where he completed Basic Combat Training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Lee, Virginia as a Supply Specialist (92Y).
 
CSM Garza’s previous assignments include: unit Armor and Supply Specialist for the 2nd Battalion, 15th Field Artillery Regiment, Fort Drum, New York; Assistant S4 NCOIC for HHD 187th Medical Battalion, Fort Sam Houston, Texas; Supply Sergeant and HQs Platoon Sergeant, Alpha Company, 1st Battalion, 506th Infantry Regiment (CURRAHEE) Camp Greaves, Korea; Supply Sergeant and Platoon Sergeant for 297th Transportation Company, 180th Transportation Battalion, Fort Hood, Texas; S4 NCOIC for the 180th Transportation Battalion, Fort Hood, Texas; Senior Drill Sergeant, Bravo Company, 3rd Battalion, 47th Infantry Regiment, Fort Benning, Georgia; First Sergeant, Echo Company, 3rd Battalion 47th Infantry Regiment, Fort Benning, Georgia; Maintenance NCOIC, J4 Multi-National Security Transition Command-Iraq, Baghdad, Iraq; the J4 (FWD) NCOIC/Support Operations NCOIC, ISF-LPD United States Forces, Iraq; First Sergeant, D Company, 2nd Battalion 47th Infantry Regiment, Fort Benning, Georgia.

He is a graduate of the United States Army’s Sergeants Major Academy Class 62. CSM Garza has a Bachelor’s Degree in Sports and Health Sciences with a concentration in Sports Management from American Military University. He is pursuing a Masters in Theology with Liberty University.
