Biography

Brigadier General Darsie D. Rogers, Jr. was commissioned a second lieutenant from Auburn University in 1987. Following his initial assignment to the 24th Infantry Division, Fort Stewart, Georgia, he completed the Special Forces Qualification Course.

Subsequent Special Forces assignments include detachment and company command, battalion operations officer and executive officer with the 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne). Other assignments include Special Operations Forces Observer/Controller at the Joint Readiness Training Center, Fort Polk, Louisiana, staff officer for the Deputy Director of Special Operations, the Joint Staff, Washington, DC, Executive Officer to the Commanding General of United States Army Special Operations Command and Executive Officer to the Deputy Commanding General of United States Northern Command.

Additionally, BG Rogers participated in Operation DESERT SHIELD/DESERT STORM, Operation PROVIDE COMFORT, peacekeeping operations in Bosnia, Operation IRAQI FREEDOM as the Joint Special Operations Task Force-North operations officer (J-3), Commander of 3rd Battalion, 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne) in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM II and III, Commander of 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne) and Combined Joint Special Operations Task Force during Operation IRAQI FREEDOM VI, and most recently as the Commander of the Joint Forces Special Operations Component Command-Iraq during Operation NEW DAWN.

BG Rogers has master's degrees from Louisiana State University and the Air War College and is a graduate of the Joint and Combined War-fighting Course and the Army Command and General Staff College.

His awards and decoration include the Defense Superior Service Medal with oak leaf cluster, Legion of Merit with oak leaf cluster, Bronze Star Medal with two oak leaf clusters, Joint Chiefs of Staff Identification Badge, Combat Infantryman's Badge, Master Parachutist Badge, Air Assault Badge, Combat Diver Badge, and the Ranger and Special Forces Tabs.
