To provide standardized medical simulation training to reduce the died of wounds rate on the battlefield for the
Active, Reserve and National Guard Component Soldiers of the Fort Carson community.
To ensure that the Warfighter receives current, realistic medical simulation training in an environment consistent
with today’s battlefield.
The Fort Carson MSTC provides medical simulation training to medical and non-medical personnel. Courses facilitated
include Medical Education and Demonstration of Individual Competence (MEDIC), Basic Life Support (BLS), Combat
Lifesaver (CLS) and Improved First Aid Kit (IFAK) Familiarization.
Location: All courses will be held at Building 2130, Khe Sanh Street, Fort Carson, CO 80913
Registration must be coordinated with the Mountain Post Medical Simulation Training Center (MSTC). Registration must
be accompanied by a copy of the Soldier’s current NREMT card and Basic Life Support (BLS) card. POC: MSTC Office,

Training Request Example
TC 8-800 (Tables I-VIII)
The TC 8 -800 course is the annual training requirement for Soldiers in MOS 68W, consisting of Medic Tables I-VII
and Skills Validation during Table VIII. All Soldiers that attend and complete all training will receive a training
certificate for 48 continuing education units (CE’s) and a DA 7442 to reflect completion of all tables. Class
size is limited to 24 Soldiers.
Medic Sustainment 24hr (Med Sust 24)
The Medic Sustainment 24hr course is designed for 68W’s that have completed TC 8-800 requirements and require 24 additional
CE’s. The course consists of advanced trauma management skills. All Soldiers completing training will receive a training
certificate for 24 CE’s.
Basic Life Support (BLS)
The BLS course is available to certified health care personnel, and is required by 68W’s in order to maintain EMT Certification.
The course is typically 4-6 hours in length. All providers who complete this course will receive a BLS card. Class
size is limited to 18 Soldiers
International Trauma Life Support (ITLS)
The foundation of ITLS is the concept and principles of trauma. ITLS takes the knowledge and skills of the 68W has attained
and addresses the unique aspects of applying emergency pre-hospital trauma management. Soldiers completing the ITLS
course will receive an adult and pediatric card awarding 24 CEU’s. Class size is limited to 24 Soldiers.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
The ACLS Provider Course is designed for healthcare providers who either direct or participate in the management of cardiopulmonary
arrest or other cardiovascular emergencies. Priority for this course are Flight Medics assigned to an Air Ambulance
Unit. Class size is limited to 12 Soldiers.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
The PALS Provider Course is designed for healthcare providers who initiate and direct basic though advanced life support
including the evaluation and management of an infant or child with respiratory compromise, circulatory compromise,
or cardiac arrest. Priority for this course are Flight Medics assigned to an Air Ambulance Unit. Class size is limited
to 12 Soldiers.
Advanced Medical Life Support Provider (AMLS)
The AMLS Course is an EMS education program that fully addresses how to best assess and manage the most common medical crises
in patients, offering a "think outside the box" methodology. It is for all levels of practitioners with a strong
commitment to patient care, including emergency medical technicians, paramedics and nurses. Priority for this course
are Flight Medics assigned to an Air Ambulance Unit. Class size is limited to 12 Soldiers.
Paramedic Refresher Course (NRP-R)
The Paramedic Refresher Course provides continuing education for Nationally Registered Paramedics. Soldiers completing the
Paramedic Refresher Course will receive a certificate for 56 CE’s and Table VIII Skills Validation documented on
DA 7442. Class size is limited to 12 Soldiers
